Vorige week heb ik een beenkussen besteld en een soort bedtafeltje voor bij de bank, zodat ik straks van alle gemakken voorzien ben. We hebben extra vochtopvangdoeken voor op bank, stoel, bed e.d. geregeld. Ik had al een Uixi-plastuit (heet nu Liberpee). Dat was een tip die ik las op een Facebookgroep over liposuctie bij lipoedeem. Altijd fijn om te leren van ervaringsdeskundigen, degenen die dit al een keer hebben meegemaakt.
Gisteren heb ik via het digitale portaal de huisarts ingelicht over de liposucties. Ik dacht dat de kliniek dat automatisch deed, maar daar moet ik natuurlijk eerst toestemming voor geven. Ik heb meteen een verwijsbrief gevraagd, want ik ga de ingreep gewoon declareren bij de zorgverzekering. Daarvoor heb ik die verwijzing nodig. Met de afwijzing (want dat staat al vast) kan ik dan een deel terugkrijgen via de belasting. Net op tijd wellicht, want het nieuwe kabinet wil aftrekbare zorgkosten afschaffen. Ik hoop dat ze daar geen meerderheid voor krijgen!
Vandaag heb ik de behandelovereenkomst en mijn gezondheidsverklaring teruggestuurd naar de kliniek. Ik heb meteen nog wat vragen gesteld en Joost(de arts) mailde vanavond al terug. Erg fijn, die korte lijnen qua contact!
Ook maar meteen antibiotica opgehaald bij de apotheek en de factuur betaald. Daar moest ik wel even mijn daglimiet voor aanpassen; zulke bedragen maak ik normaliter niet over… Ik kon deze eerste factuur helemaal betalen van de donaties van de crowdfunding. Ik had echt niet gedacht, dat dat zou lukken. Zo fijn!
Ook iets minder leuks… Gisteravond brak er een stukje van een tand af. Nu had ik toch al een tandartsafspraak voor donderdag staan, dus hij zou dan meteen kijken. Helaas brak er vanmiddag nóg een flink stuk vanaf. Toch maar even teruggebeld en ik kan nu morgenochtend al terecht bij een andere tandarts in de praktijk. Dat is prettig natuurlijk, maar dit kon ik zó niet gebruiken nu!

Phew, things are moving fast now. Just a few more days. Brr...
Last week, I ordered a leg cushion and a kind of bed table for the sofa, so that I'll have everything I need close at hand. We've arranged for extra moisture-absorbent pads for the sofa, chair, bed, etc. I already had a Uixi pee funnel (now called Liberpee). That was a tip I read on a Facebook group about liposuction for lipoedema. It's always nice to learn from experts, those who have already been through this.
Yesterday, I informed my GP about the liposuctions via the digital portal. I thought the clinic would do that automatically, but of course I have to give my permission first. I immediately asked for a referral letter, because I'm going to claim the cost of the procedure from my health insurance. I need the referral for that. With the rejection (done deal..), I can then get some of it back through the tax office. Just in time, perhaps, because the new government wants to abolish deductible healthcare costs. I hope they don't get a majority for that!
Today, I sent the treatment agreement and my health declaration back to the clinic. I immediately asked a few more questions and Joost (the doctor) emailed me back this evening. It's great to have such short lines of communication!
I also picked up antibiotics from the chemist and paid the bill. I had to adjust my daily limit for that; I don't normally transfer such large amounts... I was able to pay this first bill in full from the crowdfunding donations. I really didn't think that would be possible. So great!
Something less pleasant... Last night, a piece of my tooth broke off. I already had a dentist appointment for Thursday, so he would take a look at it then. Unfortunately, another large piece broke off this afternoon. I called back and now I can see another dentist at the practice tomorrow morning. That's nice, of course, but I really didn't need this right now!
